Monthly lunar hair guide
November 2026 lunar haircut calendar: choose a date by your goal
Looking for the best day to cut your hair in November? Start with the result you want, then use the Moon as an optional planning rhythm. A longer style, a maintained bob and a quiet care ritual need different practical decisions.
Which November window fits your intention?
Length as your intention
Waxing · 9–24 NovemberSome lunar traditions associate the growing illuminated Moon with increase. Choose an appointment after the new Moon and before the full Moon if that symbolism matters to you. It does not mean follicles will grow faster.
Keep a cut’s shape
Waning · 1–9 and 24–30 NovemberWaning is commonly used as a symbol of restraint and maintenance. For a fringe or bob, the actual trim interval and your stylist’s availability matter more than the phase.
Fullness as a ritual
Around 24 NovemberThe full Moon can mark a ritual about abundance. A haircut’s visible volume comes from its shape, texture and styling; this symbolic timing does not increase the number of follicles.
Care and a fresh start
Around 9 NovemberUse the new Moon as a reminder to simplify a routine, check your products or book a trim. Conditioning and gentle handling should follow your hair’s needs throughout the month.
The boundary dates contain a phase transition. The waxing window starts at 07:02 on 9 November and ends at 14:53 on 24 November in UTC; it does not cover those entire days. There is no universal “best” date independent of your objective or timezone.

November’s four astronomical turning points
The month begins with a waning Moon. These phase instants come from the U.S. Naval Observatory’s 2026 phase table. They are astronomical events, not scientifically established haircut recommendations.
Last quarter
1 November · 20:28 UTCThe illuminated portion continues shrinking toward the new Moon.
New Moon
9 November · 07:02 UTCThe beginning of the next waxing cycle.
First quarter
17 November · 11:48 UTCThe waxing Moon reaches its quarter-phase turning point.
Full Moon
24 November · 14:53 UTCThe cycle turns from waxing to waning.
If you live outside the UK, convert these instants to your timezone: a late-night event can fall on a different calendar date. The next last quarter is 1 December at 06:08 UTC. The app evaluates local days using its own phase categories; the broad windows above are an overview, not a reproduction of every personalised app result.
What about colouring your hair?
LunaCut includes a colour intention, but lunar colour traditions are less consistent than the familiar waxing-versus-waning distinction. Treat the phase as an optional reminder to plan ahead. Follow the product instructions and your colourist’s guidance; allow time for any required checks and avoid scheduling just to meet a lunar deadline. The Moon has not been shown here to improve pigment uptake or make colour last longer.
Turn a calendar window into one appointment
First decide what you want to preserve or change. Then list two or three salon dates that actually work. If lunar timing is part of your routine, compare those dates with the relevant window rather than cancelling a sensible appointment because one symbolic day is unavailable. A healthy routine should remain comfortable, affordable and practical.
For example, someone maintaining a shaped cut could choose a convenient late-November trim, while someone using the waxing Moon as a length ritual could book before the full Moon. Both should ask their stylist how much to remove and why. The calendar does not replace that conversation.
Traditions differ; the phase dates do not prove the tradition
Almanacs may add zodiac signs, lunar days or regional conventions and arrive at different haircut dates. This guide uses a simple phase-based explanation. For the broader evidence question, read does the Moon affect hair growth? The October 2026 guide remains available if you are booking this month.
